Following a referral from a consultant (we accept both NHS and private referrals)
the patient will be fully assessed with respect to adaptation to the hyperbaric
environment.
The wound characteristics and overall condition of the patient will be fully
documented. From this assessment and discussions with the patient's specialist
and GP, an individual treatment plan will be produced.
This plan will outline the aims and outcomes expected for that individual patient
and will be used throughout the treatment programme to monitor progress. Serial
photographs of wounds will be taken to augment clinical notes.
Audit of outcome against pretreatment aims and objectives will be completed
in every case. A review panel consisting of 2 local consultants, the medical
advisor and officers of Dorset Health Commission will meet annually to review
cases treated and assess efficacy.
